You can't get a better gel manicure than this. Luster, strength and durability are unsurpassed even after dishes, typing, everyday use. But if you've ever experienced peeling or lifting edges, or peeling after several days, you'll understand how irritating it can be! Luckily, there are many of these issues which can easily be addressed. It begins with a small sized dude – the nail dehydrator! We've seen this change impact salon professionals and home users at MANNFl. Allow me to explain why this is extremely crucial.
Why a Clean Surface Is Not Enough
Most people think that alcohol is enough to prepare the nail for the procedure, but that is not the case. The natural nails are oily and moist even after being cleaned. These oils are caught in little ridges and in the cuticle region. When covered on top with a gel polish it will not adhere to the nail plate. Imagine that you wanted to put up a picture on an oily countertop. May last for an hour and a half, but will eventually come off. A nail dehydrator is more than just alcohol. Rids surfaces of any grease or surface moisture to ensure the cleanest surface for the next step. So, it is obvious to MANNFl that, every day, a nail dehydrator is a must use and a no-brainer.
How Dehydrator Prevents Early Lifting
The first place people lift to gel polish will be the ways that gel polish is applied. One of the main reasons for losing trust in gel polish is how people remove them. It is when the oil or water leaks between the natural and the gel. This space can eventually increase and water and/or dust can accumulate inside. Then, the gel will come out as a one sheet. You can't let it happen with a nail dehydrator. It will wipe off all moisture of the nail's surface, which will provide a strong base coat. We are best suited to use our gel products when the nail is properly prepped at MANNFl. Now it's been more than 10 years we've been doing this job and our motto is “A perfect manicure is 90% preparation and 10% application.”
The Real Difference in Wear Time
Once properly using a dehydrator, the difference in wear time is apparent. You can easily extend the wear of your gel manicure to two weeks or more, rather than 5 or 6 days prior to the tips starting to go up. Dramatic improvement is seen even by naturally oily nail beds. The amount of salon owners that I've encountered that were completely amazed at how much this little extra can mean on their reputation of durability. We were notified, however, from one of our MANNFl partners in Italy, that they had been cutting their redo requests by almost half with the addition of an appropriate dehydration step. Not only is it good to the customers, it's good results! That saves time, saves product and more satisfied customers who will return!
How to Use It the Right Way
The nail dehydrator is a simple product to use; however, there are a couple of things to be aware of. Firstly, push back the cuticles and buff the surface of the nail in a light manner. Don't over buff since you don't want to make the nail really thin, just take off the shine. Then, apply a small amount of dehydrator to a clean lint free cloth and apply to each nail. Be sure to check the sidewalls and the vicinity of the cuticle as these are the places where oils are most likely to be found. This air dryer will dry out in no time at all. The nail will lose its shine and become dull. This is what you want to happen. Once you've applied your MANNFl base coat you can add your colour and top coat. After that never touch the prepared nails again or the new oil will be transferred.
Little changes in your lifestyle can be a big difference in the world. The nail dehydrator is NOT a process. This is the step that is the glue that keeps the entire thing together. We feel that beautiful gel nails should be a reliable nail as well and at MANNFl, we have this! The extra few seconds to get nails dry right will save you hours of aggravation when you're painting your nails at home or when you're busy in your salon. You can have the perfect manicure in the palm of your hand.
